The atheletes today have better training regimins in that they are often paid to work out all year,they dont need training camps to get into shape like guys of the past who often had real jobs in the offseason.Plus alot of todays players still use steroids.The linemen in football are bigger than in the past because teams want it that way but a guy like butkus with todays training methods would have probably killed someone on the field.Thank heavens he never used steroids.But they guys today arent taller than yesterdays players they purposely are heavier though in some sports at some positions.How many guys in todays nba are big and strong enough to guard kareem abdul jabbar or wilt chamberlain?
