Yes and no. The defense that QBs go up against today are light years better than they ever were back in the days of the QBs you noted. That right there makes a difference too and evens out all that just a bit. As far as them playing more games, that has nothing to do with it either, as Manning played 4 season less (game wise) than Favre played. Can you imagine how many TDs he would end up with if he played as many games as Favre played, maybe around 800? But he won't last that long, I bet he will go for 600 and then retire.
Those who been posting here for years know how much I couldn't stand Manning and I would bitch about him often, then he ends up on my favorite team! But in all of those years I always said he was in the top 5 of QBs anyway, and now I know for a fact he is in the top 3, since I see him play every week and he's as good as you can get. Truth is, if you take the top 10 all time QBs, you can't really say who was the best out of the bunch since they played at different times, with different front lines, etc. I always said Elway was the best ever, since in part, other than his last 3 years playing, he had no team to back him up, unlike Manning has had some great teams, as well as the other greats. But one thing for sure, I don't think any QB understood the game of football better than Manning has understood it, that helps him be even greater than how great a QB he already is.
