Points well made pluto but if someone in my family was killed id want death for the killer nothing less.Sure its horrible to execute an innocent person,but its also horrible to incarcerate someone for 50 years for a crime they didnt commit.If you eliminate the death penalty you certainly would stop killing wrongly convicted persons but i bet you would still incarcerate a ton of them for 40 or 50 years or life,and that isnt right either?Your point on getting confessions about other killings is duly noted.But a ton of tax payer dollars is spent on housing,protecting,feeding and caring for degenerates like ramirez,berkowitz.and that scumbag who killed lennon.
