I think Aftermath is a good candidate - like GHS, it was recorded in the same place at about the same time, has the same basic sound to it, and has the same basic themes running through it: a band that has been on the road a very long time, and are sick of the grind of the road, and all that brings.
The titles from those sessions say it all: 19th Nervous Breakdown, Lookin' Tired, Paint it Black, Stupid Girl, Doncha Bother Me, Goin Home, Flight 505, Out of Time, and on and on...one almost don't have to listen to the songs to know whats going on!
I have always thought that Aftermath tends to get forgotten by a lot of fans who worship the Big Five. Its as PERSONAL as any Stones album ever, and the remaster of the UK version especially brings it all in loud and clear whats going on.
