I have been thinking about that Who poll question all week, and as someone noted above, even though I voted for Ox, I really don't think he was under rated either! I don't think ANY of the original 4 members were ever under rated. Pete was a great song writer and composer. Roger was a great front man with an amazing vocal range and had the "look", if you will. Keith was an amazing drummer with stage presence (how often do you see that in a drummer?) John was, as mentioned, one of the greatest bass players in rock and roll history. None of them were under rated IMO.
Kenney Jones, on the other hand, wasn't really under rated either, though. He was an excellent drummer who was inducted into the hall of fame as a member of the (Small) Faces. Even though he was ACTUALLY a member of the Who, I don't think he was INDUCTED as a member of the Who. Could that mean that he WAS under rated as a member of the Who, then? Ronnie was inducted as a Stone after 14 years with the band. Jones was technically the Who's drummer for 10 years before the Who "broke up". Granted, they only released 2 albums during that span.
If I am wrong about him being inducted as a member of the Who, then I stand corrected. Does anyone know if he was? Either way, I don't think any of the 5 are under rated as musicians.
