LoveYouLive, I saw your response to the earlier post it's just that it had slipped so far down the board that I did not respond. When I pointed out the Iraqi chem/bio suites. I was refering to the fact that they had them as well as a tank and stockpiles of weapons and ammnition hidden in a building that was clearly marked as a hospital. That is what is against international warfare laws. They have a right to those suites,but I don't see why they would need them.
As for the argument the WE supplied the Iraqs with weapons is an old and tired argument that doesn't really wash. It's true that we made a terrible mistake by providing tham with strains of anthrax. That is a mistake that we now have to correct. Is that our fault? Yes to a degree. However,WE did not provide them with their chemical agents. No,that was done by our good friends and allies the Germans. We all know how adept at chemical weapons they are thier past. There is strong evidence that some of these chems were provided after the UN santions were put into place. We'll just have to wait and see. It might help explain Germany's reluctance to get involved with this war. Plus the fact that the French have as recently as two months ago were selling them Mirage jet parts. A direct violation of the UN sanctions that the French helped write!
As for the other weapons in the Iraqi arsenal. Let's look at those shall we? Every battle tank in the Iraqi military is either a T-31 or T-55 battle tank. They are manufactured by the Russians. Mirage jet fighters. They are manufactured by the French. The Iraqi artillary is made up of German,French,and Russian pieces. As for Iraq's small arms. Kalishnakov rifles are Russian. The Iraqi armoured personal carriers are all French. All their anti aircraft weapons are Russian.
So the argument that the United States armed Iraq is just not true. We helped,but not nearly to the extant that our supposed allies have.
