RE: True test of an album's quality

The true test is just whether or not you like it. Why would anyone buy music they won't like in a few months? You can only play so many things and you're only gonna get really, really familiar with albums you LOVE, but that doesn't mean an album has less quality. I play The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators once in awhile, but it's not the kind of music to listen to day in and day out. It's still a fantastic album, groundbreaking in its scope and one of the truly different things to ever happen, but I'm not gonna play it every day.

I haven't played The Sensational Alex Harvey Band Live! in probably three years, but I gurantee if I pop it in it will be one of the coolest things I listen to that day. I haven't listened to Bowie's Hunky Dory or Aladdin Sane in ages, either, but they're still top quality albums.

Undercover however, gets a lot of play around me. It always has. I think it's one of the Stones' best albums. I think I'll pop in some NRBQ, though. That's pure quality and I never have played them enough.
