RE: True test of an album's quality

Honestly? For me, it sucks. Six months is hardly a litmus test for me. I fucking hated Steel Wheels when it come out; in the past 15 yrs, it has grown on me somewhat. Nothing spectacular, but I do hold it in higher regard than I did 6 months after its release. And as far as wanting to hear songs live....well, there were lots of songs on B2B that I liked, yet didn't necessarily want to hear them live. For instance, I thought they butchered Flip The Switch live in concert. Same with Don't Have to Mean it, and ASMB. Saint of Me was redeeming, yet I don't really ever care to hear that one again. Ten years down the road is really the litmus test to determine if a recording falls respectably into a band's legacy.
