yeah its funny how we all battled to wear out hair longer and todays guys love to shave their heads and wear brush cuts lol?
Yep.... and I think that whenever I look at my 4 grandsons today, LOL! I recall the battles with not only my school but with my parents too on that. Then even back in the '90s when my lone son was a boy and he wanted to keep his hair short, and I would tell him if he wanted a short haircut to go pay for it himself. I wasn't gonna stop him if that was the look that he wanted, but I wasn't gonna encourage it or support it, either. Now 25 years later I got the same deal with my grandson who lives with me. When he was a preteen he had longish hair (a Dutch boy look, or in his case with his then and now no more blond hair, a preteen Brian Jones look) - thanks mainly to his mom who also lived with us back then and who always has loved long hair on her guys. But today - and since he hit his teens, he's got real short (and dark brown) hair by his choice (well, not the brown color, it changed on him like it did on his mom when she grew up). It's weird, since while I understand that's the look today for boys, it isn't the look for most of the boys who live in this town where we live, as about half of his teen fiends here are longhairs (it's just how the males, both men and boys in this liberal hippie mountain town are and look). But not my kid, he's into short hair. So I say to him as I said to his uncle years ago, I tell him if he wants short hair that's his business - but he can pay for his own haircuts. So he does.
But it's funny how things turn out on that as the years go by and come back to what they always have been for me on this subject matter. As a kid my parents, teachers, and all the elders in my life hated long hair on me and all guys - while I loved the look. So I grow old and today my grandsons are just like my parents on this! Just where did I go wrong in raising my boys, Ronnie?
