No, but I always kept my eyes wide open for it in my many visits to the great record stores in downtown Manhattan. But you know what? Suppose I had seen it, I would have been to poor to afford it anyway. It would have cost at least $50 no doubt -- MINIMUM.

Here's how I heard the reason for that cover:
New Beatles (and Stones) albums were different in America. We would get eleven songs on a Beatles album ('Meet....' got 12) but the rest of the world got 14 --- and that's without the singles being included.
Why less songs here in the states?
That would mean MORE ALBUMS, which means more money for the record company, --- and that meant more photo-sessions for The Beatles!! They didn't like the bullshit, especially more photo-sessions.
They got fed up with all that, so they decided to have some fun and make that album cover more from anger, and protest.
