Lol I don't think it's dementia, I think you've just gotten mixed up between some (2)of the early meetings between the fabs (or some of them) and the Stones. I think to some degree or another we're all 'students' of the early Stones and that period (in music) in general, we've taken in an awful lot of information, remembering it all is a bit much to expect. Over the last number of years I've taken to writing things down.
I think more or less everyone has come to accept that if it's a date or event you're after then generally speaking Wyman's yer man (even if his interpretation of events is sometimes 'suspect' imo). So page 87 of his 'Rolling With the Stones' is the place to go if you want to know what went down re 'I Wanna Be Your Man'. I think reading that you (we) can say, that the song was finished and given to the Stones in Colyer's Studio 51 in Soho.
