RE: RE: Best Bands (SSC)

Best bands --- that's a good question.

I was seven when The Beatles first came to America, and I was badly smitten by Beatlemania, They were the catalysts-----they started my love for music. Slowly I also got into non-Beatles music of 1964. And it was full speed ahead!

I was instantly a huge fan of The Rolling Stones, eventually surpassing The Beatles.

I also dig The Who --- very much! I knew intuitively they were going to be huge, and I was right. There's no other group like them. That rhythm section is so incredibly unique, (Keith Moon is especially fanfuckentastic on 'Quadraphenia') Roger Daltrey is one of Rock's top 2 or 3 singers, and Pete Townsend is an amazing songwriter, arranger, oh and he plays a damn good guitar too. What a group!!! Just saying --- their album "The Who By Numbers" (1975) is criminally underrated. Again, just saying.

Bob Dylan, not a 'band' but I'm sure he'll be accepted here. == What can I say about Bobby. How can I describe his work. Bob Dylan's music has moved me so much in the past 45 years. I'll leave it at that.

The Moody Blues --Pioneers of Art Rock. I've enjoyed their music very much, up to about 1983. Kinda lost interest after that. I still root for them though.
