Funny, I'm about 3/4 way thru a Lou Reed bio...

I'm not sure VU was as influential as the bio makes out, maybe they were? I prefer the post-VU interpretations Lou put on their standards.

I only have a few VU/Reed albums but R&R Animal remains one of my fav live albums ever. I can't remember why but I bought Take No Prisoners years ago & always thought the banter hilarious. Have just got past the Quine period in my book & must listen to Blue Mask as I'm not familiar with that one at all.

Decades ago my night school teacher gave me a couple of John Cale albums saying I would listen to nothing else for months - never took to them at the time, wish I still had them...
