He could certainly act, his talent most likely past down to him from his dad Jack, as Manny mentioned was a famous actor. My wife is a huge fan of old Westerns and we've seen JC many times guesting in them. Amazing actor really.
A young up-and-coming David Cassidy guested on an episode of Bonanza playing a dramatic role, a troubled youth. Believe me this guy could act!!!! We're so used to seeing him in his (wonderful & delightful) comedic role in the Partridge Family.
In the very early 70s I literally got excited for the show on Friday nights 8:30 est (and for The Odd Couple at 9:30). Except for Pro Wrestling and Gidget no other TV shows ever did that to me.
R.I.P. David Cassidy, thanks for the joy I so much needed some of in those days, and for all the good times!
