Yes, writing the music is what they are talking about there. The truth is, they rarely ever wrote lyrics together, as early as the late '60s that wasn't happening too much anymore between them. Mick writes his lyrics alone and Keith writes his, if they are missing a line or two, then the other one helps out to fill in the blanks.

We had a link here not too long ago that lead to an old interview with Mick from the late '70s where he noted this arrangement they had, although that was old news of course. They did write all the lyrics together up until the late '60s, and then that started to slowly change, other than for a few songs. I was thinking most fans understood that, but maybe not the younger fans? I believe it was on Exile where every song was written by one or the other, but not written together, but again, I'm just talking about the lyrics here, not the music.
