I totally agree with Steel Wheels, but I DO see Keno's side of it, too. I'm sure Keno has literally seen more of the goings on because he is older and saw the conception and rise of the band. With that said, the cost to put on a show these days, I'm sure, is SO much more than it was in the 60's and 70's in which Keno is talking about. Hence the sky rocketing ticket prices. To put on a good show they have backup singers, a horn section and all the pyrotechnics and stage props that they really didn't have back then. All that costs money.
Plus... I don't think one ever has enough money. I say if you can make it...MAKE IT! Think of all the money the Stones got screwed out of in the early days. That might be a reason why Mick is so money hungry now. Maybe.
You are right, they are NOT the same band as they were in the 60's and 70's, but you were lucky enough to see them then. A lot of us (me included) only got to see them starting in the 80's as I imagine Steel Wheels did, too. You have something to compare it to. We don't. I never regretted paying top dollar to see the Stones. I am fortunate enough to say that I make enough money where it isn't a problem to pay those prices.
I think both of you are right to a point, but I think you are both looking at it from two different angles.
