RE: RE: RE: Classical concerts

Absolutely Classical! Hell, ever since I can remember the violin was my favorite instrument, and in time it lead me to check out classical music, one genre where it's played the most in. But I love the sound of all of the instruments heard together in a symphony, and there's was nothing finer than attending the Colorado Springs Philharmonic at the then brand new Pikes Peak Center. I actually got to meet with the conductor back in those days thanks to the fact they advertised through my business, and got to see my first concert for free thanks to a couple of passes they gave me. But it's interesting when you go to a concert in Colorado and everybody just dresses as they please, from some wearing tuxes and suits to others wearing just bluejeans and looking like they were going to a rock concert. I always wondered if I ever got to go to a show in a place like NYC, if the people dressed like that for a classical concert? I've been told no, that everybody dresses up back east, since that's the way the lifestyle is in general there. That's one thing I remember about living there and growing up there, everybody always dressed in the current style, whereas out here in the west most everybody is laid back and could care less what they wear and how they look.

Sadly it's been years since I last saw any classical concerts, rock concerts, or country shows, as my ears just can't handle any kind of live shows anymore. The local 3 day music festival that my town puts on once a year in August is it for me these days, and even there I now have to stay away from the front of the stage. Last time I was in the front row for that was when Edgar Winter was the headliner, about 5 or 6 years ago, and what a great show he put on, but he was so loud and I had that damn ringing in my ears again, and since that show I stay far away from the stage now even for that fun event.
