RE: AC/DC: a global band

AC/DC really was from all over the place. Singer Bon Scott was actually just like the 2 Young brothers, born in Scotland and moved to Australia as a child. Dave Evans was their first official singer, be it for a short time, but they only recorded one song with him and if they count him as a official member, then why not the third Young brother, George, the former Easy Beat guitarist who was their fill-in bass player on the first album, who also played guitar on the LP, and who produced the first few LPs for the band, and whom hired Bon, first as their drummer, but who of course became their lead singer. So George really was a member of the band (more so then Dave Evans), and like his brothers, was born in Scotland. Yet he was never noted as being an official member, just their producer.

You cannot count Axl Rose as a official member of the band, and AC/DC doesn't count his as such, since he was nothing more than a last minute fill-in for a handful of shows. It would be like saying that Jimmy Nichols was a official member of the Beatles when he filled in for Ringo on several tour dates in '64. Most people don't even remember him, and Axl was never anything but a famous fill in the band, so in turn there were never any Americans in AC/DC.

Drummer Phil Rudd, who I understand is back in the band as of last month, was born in Australia, not NZ, while their first bass player Mark Evans was also Australian born, but their main and current bass player, Cliff Williams, was born in the UK, as was former drummer Simon Wright.

All of that above info comes from both the bio I wrote on them many years ago, and also from Wikipedia, which is usually correct in waht they state.
