Can O' Worms!!

Okay, I see that there are some tough questions generated from this question.

What constitutes an "American band" or a "Canadian band" or a "British band"??

Clearly, some bands claim roots in more than one country.

For example... where are AC/DC from? Most of their singer did not come from Australia, where the core of their members hail from, and those guys claim a Scottish heritage.

Eddie Van Halen was born in the Netherlands. But I would say that since almost all of his life as a recording artist has been in the USA, with American born singers, that they qualify as an American band.

But there are definitely bands that could easily claim to be a band of more than one county, so I guess those bands could be considered for lists for great bands of more than one country.

Yes, the Beach Boys are pretty awesome. And when you start listing off these American bands there are just so many of them! When you see lists of the supposedly greatest, these lists are dominated by British bands (nothing wrong with that) but there are indeed truly great American and Canadian rock bands
