Exile: What if?

We all know Exile on Main Street as part of the "Big Four". Argueably one of the best Stones albums ever. It's a double album...16 songs. WHAT IF the Stones released it as 2 regular 9 or 10 song albums, say, a year apart before Goats Head Soup? Would it, or they, be considered the Big 5 or, as an album divided, be looked at as two mediocre albums hence leaving us with only a Big 3?

It is one of my favorite albums as a whole...all 16 songs together. I'm not sure how I would feel about it (or them) as 2 seperate albums, though. Of course it would depend on how they divided the songs on each album I guess. Anyone with any thoughts on this?
