RE: The Eternal 27-Year-Olds

Shortly before he died, Hendrix was scheduled to record with Gil Evans' jazz orchestra. That would have really been something to hear. I could definitely picture Hendrix branching out to include multiple musical genres.

Brian? If he could have regained his emotional and physical health, recaptured his earlier musical enthusiasm and drive, and teamed up with a collaborator(s) who could have utilized Brian's keen sense of melody and counterpoint, there's no telling what he might have accomplished.

Alan Wilson was a very accomplished blues harp and bottleneck slide player, and had a unique vocal style as well. He was in more of a supportive role with Canned Heat, generally playing second fiddle to vocalist Bob "Bear" Hite and guitarists Henry Vestine & Harvey Mandel. So he definitely diversified their sound, but in terms of where he might have taken it forward, I really can't say.

Morrison and Joplin were both on a self-destructive path. I don't see a different outcome for either of them. It was only a matter of time.
