This is not quite exact. I think you're actually thinking of what is called coloratura soprano, Keno. Coloratura sopranos can usually sing higher notes than "regular" sopranos.
"Soprano" is a type of female singing voice, the range of which usually starts at middle C or middle C sharp. How high it goes depends on the range of the singer. It's the highest female voice, but it's a "normal" pitch. The male counterpart to the soprano is the tenor.
Women can sing falsetto, I just don't think that they do in rock music. For whatever reason.
