"Paint It Black" in the first rock poll.... Those first few notes are played by Keith, not Brian (as many people think.)
Really, who told you that? There is nothing in the session logs that show this, other than at first both Keith and Brian were both credited for guitar and then later on only Keith is. But it could have still been played by BJ on the sitar and I always felt it was, in part because whenever they played it live when Brian was alive, only once can I recall seeing Keith shown playing this opening part (on ES if I recall, and that wasn't played live), but they don't show Brian at that point either, he could be playing along too. I've seen at least 2 other vids where Keith just stands there playing nothing as the song opens and that is played. If this was Keith's part, he would have played it live (even on the TV shows when they were not really playing, he would have just pretended to play), and especially back in the '60s; today I'm not sure who opens it.

You, nor anybody else, needs to be a fan of their covers to vote, just a fan of our polls! The question just asks which song is better, and all of us here being Stones fans should make comparing these covers easy. Rock Poll: Paint It Black... I'm one of those who thought Brian opened the song, DA.
Me, you, and most fans. This is only the second time (both times here now) where I heard somebody claim it's Keith playing. I'm pretty sure it ain't Keith as Brian and Bill came up with the music for this song and I would bet Brian played the opening we hear. Again, if it's Keith, why did he never play it live?
Beatles: Hide Your Love Away. Revolution will probably win. I hate to say it, but I really don't like that song.
We all have different likes in life, if you dislike something, you dislike it and nobody else can tell you that you do like it. They may say something like' get your hearing checked', but that's it.
I always loved any time when acid guitar was played and Lennon played it as well as anybody out there, although on this song it's only part acid and part very loud early heavy metal guitar. Of course, many would argue that acid guitar just turned into what we know of today as heavy metal guitar playing, but I always felt there was a difference in the 2, and I'm not as crazy for heavy metal guitar licks as I am for acid guitar playing. But I guess that yes, most acid rock is today looked at as heavy metal music.

There should be a bullet next to the number you chose, if you see the bullet somewhere else, then yes, you voted for the wrong choice. If that's so, just let me know and I can change your vote, no big deal, mistakes happen. But of course, some of the newer browsers out there don't show the bullet, if that's the case, you would have no way of knowing if you voted for the wrong choice or not.
2nd poll I chose GNR - I couldn't play the ozzy version but would have liked to (I even checked for it on You Tube)
I'll check it and make sure I didn't code it wrong, it worked the day when I coded it, it was a brand new video just added the day before.
