As I noted down below, after talking to one insider and exchanging a few emails with another, I don't have too much new to report on MT, other than maybe a cover-up of some kind by the Stones? I'm saying this because of what I was - or wasn't, told.
For the most part, these 2 guys are the only insiders I go to theses days since they are the only 2, for many years now, whose stories have been closest to correct when the others haven't been. The fact I don't have as much free time to dig deep into stuff like this is the other reason I just stick to these two friends for insider info.
So, what I was told was this: MJ is who decides how many songs MT plays on for each show. Keith has no say in the matter, unless he was to go up to MJ before a show and say something like 'my hands are hurting real bad tonight', then MJ might allow MT to play on a few more songs in such a case. I was told by both insiders that is the only way MT will play on more songs, although if enough fans bitch enough*, MJ does pay attention and little Mick could start playing perhaps on 3 to 5 shows each night, but there isn't anyway he will play an entire show on this tour. *MJ is kept informed of what fans are saying here and at the other 2 main boards (SD's place and IORR's place), and he also keeps tabs on our Stones poll, so if you wish to see a bit more of MT per show, make sure you vote this week in the poll that address this question!
The other stuff I was told was that there is no way MT will ever officially be let back in the band, it will never happen. I do hope this bit of info is incorrect, but more than likely it isn't. This could also be the main reason why they use him so sparingly. I was told that if they let MT back in, then what about DJ, who has been playing with them longer than MT ever did? But my reply was, DJ isn'ta reason why fans go out to see the Stones today, while MT is, plus MT helped to create some of their biggest hits, whereas again, that isn't - nor ever was the case with Jones.
They could not answer the question as to why MT isn't playing on any of the songs that he recorded with them, both are totally in the dark with this and agree it makes zero sense as to why..... but..... I was told one last thing from my most trusted insider. He told me there was something he could not tell me about as to something that is going down that would make more sense as to why MT is being limited right now. That got me guessing of course, and I can't but think it's a money issue. IMO only, the only other thing it could be is that maybe it's a MT health issue? I was told he wants to play on more songs for sure, and that Keith and Ronnie loves him being up there playing with them. But where MT wants to play on more songs, maybe he can't because of his health? That's only a guess now, and we know MT has had these issues for many years now. But looking at what else I was told, about MJ calling the shots on how many songs MT plays on, then it couldn't be a health issue with MT. So I still think it's a money thing that's getting in the way and nothing more. But I was told nothing more than a "maybe in the future I can tell you what it is" reply. So my guess is it more than likely is one of those 2 reasons only, I mean, what else could it be? But deep down, I only know what I was told and what I was told was very little. There is something they don't wish the fans to know about, if that wasn't the case, I would have been told what the true deal is.
So now you see what I mean, nothing really new to report on this other than the Stones aren't telling us something, Ronnie!
