Do you really think that Sgt. Pepper is that influential today? There's a lot more music out today that sounds like Beggars Banquet than Sgt. Pepper. I think Sgt. Pepper's influence is vastly overstated. Its influence was big for about 2-3 years, but wore off quickly.
Frankly, I don't think A Day In The Life is a very good song. It's not catchy, has no rhythm, has pretentious lyrics, and it's too long. I can't understand why so many people think it's a classic. For good Beatles psychdelia, give me Tomorrow Never Knows off Revolver.
