: Do you really think that Sgt. Pepper is that influential today? There's a lot more music out today that sounds like Beggars Banquet than Sgt. Pepper. I think Sgt. Pepper's influence is vastly overstated. Its influence was big for about 2-3 years, but wore off quickly.

: Frankly, I don't think A Day In The Life is a very good song. It's not catchy, has no rhythm, has pretentious lyrics, and it's too long. I can't understand why so many people think it's a classic. For good Beatles psychdelia, give me Tomorrow Never Knows off Revolver.

I disagree about the Pepper disdain. I personally would vote for Rubber Soul as their best, and I agree that they peeked in the mid 60s, but I think Sgt Pepper is a great album. Its not among my most listened to stuff but it is quality all the way through. Unlike the White album which rehashed Sgt Peppers to a large extant, it was all new stuff. I place it in the top ten for most influential rock albums

Sgt Peppers
Electric Ladyland
Exile on Main Street
Bob Dylan (by Bob Dylan)
those are my top 4 in no order
