I gave the Stones song an 8, but only because I need to leave some wiggle room for what I suspect will come later. When you think that the year was 1963, that blistering slide guitar solo by Brian was a sound that most people had never heard before. The Stones' version of the song blew the Beatles' out of the water. I'm glad it exists on video, even if the quality is mediocre.
Four great songs in the first rock poll. I picked "California Dreamin'" because I had to pick one. But ask me tomorrow and it could well be another one.
"Hound Dog" in the Elvis poll. Two great songs there, no doubt about it.
The Beatles cover gets an 8. No particular reason.
