I gave 'I Wanna be your man a 6. I based that on my vote for 'Come On' which I gave a 7, and which I enjoy just a bit better than this weeks single. In saying that, I recognise that the Stones did a great job with a song that Lennon and McCartney originally intended to be, and what it eventually became, the obligatory 'Ringo' track on an album. Listening to both versions, there is no comparison in my view. The Stones single is far superior to the Beatles album track. You've got to figure that since the Stones released it as a single, a lot more attention was paid to it by them, than the attention the Beatles gave a 'Ringo' song which was essentially, album filler.
The season song was quite a difficult choice, and I plumped for the Loving Spoonful. When I clicked the button though, I was quite surprised to see the votes it was getting, and holding up well against some serious competition.
'Hound Dog' for me in the Elvis cover thing.
I gave the Beatles ep cover an 8, a much better cover than last weeks imo.
