Pete explains all of that in his bio, on how and why he wrote those - and how and why most of the great songs on Who's Next was at first suppose to be another rock opera that never happened. Now that book was a great read indeed! If you haven't read that book, get it!

Keith Richards has written more and perhaps better songs than Pete - but Pete's book totally blew away Keith's book (bio) - and Keith's book was still very good.
