No question, and that's the whole point of this discussion. If you are great at something, you will make it big on your own, be it in music, or anything else, other than say a job as a janitor perhaps (and I'm not putting such a job down, as I was a school janitor once, when I in my mid 20s, for one school year, as I had 2 small kids to support and I was lucky to get the job - it payed great and was a higher wage than what the average wage was in the small town we lived in). But where a janitor might get his own kid such a job, nobody with a ton of other talent is going to choose that line of work to do on their own for life and turn out to be the best at it for years on end. Jobs like that are usually stepping stone jobs, and yes, some do it for all their lives too, and hey, it's a better job than just sitting around and doing nothing at all.
