How can "Suck on the Jugular" be "enchanting"?
HERE I AM -- Just call me Mr. Pronoun Ambiguity. 😲 I just reread my post. --Dammit I did it again. By 'enchanting' I meant the whole album, not the song SOTJ. I have to really proofread my stuff more carefully before posting.
While I really dig VL, I was quite pissed that Jagger made that solo album (his third) before that. Those were all dynamite songs on "Wandering Spirit". Can you imagine the Stones recording "Mother of a Man", "Out of Focus", "Put Me In the Trash", and "Wired All Night"?
Why did Jagger do that? Was he pissed at his band mates or something?
I mean, I understood (eventually) why after "Dirty Work" he told his mates he's making a solo album (his 2nd) instead of touring to support DW. I was so pissed at first, but later realized the band were in no shape to tour, and Mick knew that such a tour could destroy the Stones' legacy.
But why did he make a 3rd solo, instead of the Stones recording those great songs? I remember Keith in some interview lamenting that.
