Gosh, I haven't played VL in ages! Really, other than when I played GHS one day last week, I haven't been playing any of my Stones albums (or any of my LPs period) and instead when I want to hear the Stones - I put on their 24/7 radio station instead... I just get so lazy in the summertime.
Yet I've been in the middle of re-rating all of the Stones LPs for the site (since it's been 13 years since I last did that and this is more than likely the last time I'll ever re-rate them). But it's been over 2 months since I rerated the last one, that being BB. I'm going in order of the releases and one of my favorites is up next, LIB, and you think that would motivate me to get back to work! But the summertime lazy blues keep getting in my way. Thing is, often when I play LIB, I end up playing SF, too, directly afterwards. So maybe I'll kill 2 birds with one rolling stone when I finally get around to doing it. We actually have a rare mostly cloudy summer day here today, so today would be a good day for that, right? Plus it isn't hot today either, so a perfect day with no excuses to not do that. So I'd say it's a 50/50 chance that in the next 2 hours I will.
As far as VL goes, guess it will be awhile till I get to that one. It isn't one I usually play every so often, yet I do dig it. But I'm such a creature of habit. When I play my Stones LPs, I play SF first and foremost, then LIB, then BB, and then GHS. I rarely get around to playing the others, even if I like the others. Well yes, I also play Hot Rocks a lot too... but do greatest hits count?
I'm the same way with all other bands that I like a lot. With the Beatles it's AR, TWA, and the underrated LIB. Then once in a while RS, too. Yet I love all the Beatles other LPs too, yet never play them either. Come to think of it, I did play Beatles for Sale about 2 weeks ago (so once in a blue moon you never know with me just what I might spin).... But I'm that way with all of the bands I love most. It's just so much easier to put on the radio - especially if the band as one of their own stations, and listen to their music in that lazy way. Call me lazy bones, Ronnie!
