Because of my lifelong love of the accordion, I eventually discovered Irish music. Irish music without the accordion is like The Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger! 😫
I would go with The Pogues for sure. You can't go wrong with them. Terrific band, and they were pioneers of the Irish Punk genre.
Here is their third album, released in early 1987 If I Should Fall From Grace With God. Amazing stuff on there.
For more middle-of-the-road, (but still exciting) The Elders' first four studio albums, and their first live album. Fantastic stuff on those.
So many albums recorded by The Irish Rovers and there're all great.
When it comes to Irish Punk bands, my favorite one these days (after The Pogues) are Happy Ol'McWeasel.
I also love Paddy & The Rats, but they're actually from Hungary. Great band. 😃
