The question invites one to wax poetic with allegories laced with pseudo-profundity, much like the charter in Spinal Tap who talked of his band mates as being like hot and cold water, with he himself being luke warm.
I do get it how people would say that you can't have one without the other, that the real genius is the art produced by their relationship.
But if I am to be honest, I see it as Keith's style, his musical forcefulness and edge, supporting Mick's abilities as writer and front-man. If we have their solo albums as our guide, Mick's are hands down superior in my view, as much as I enjoy Keith's stuff.
But their solo albums are not the Stones. They are not the Glimmer Twins. The magic of the Stones happens only when these two work together.
