First, and I should had noted this in the Stones poll post, when asking for the most musical genus in the band, by "musical", that doesn't just cover playing instruments - although I would agree that is the most important thing to consider. But this also covers singing and songwriting, and I have a feeling that some aren't thinking in that light when I see how few votes MJ is getting so far in the voting. Since he wrote close to 100% of the lyrics at least in the '60s and early '70s (he has flat out said so), how can he have such few votes? Where would the Stones had been without those lyrics for those songs? Remember, Keith, along with the rest of the band, came up with the music, but Mick wrote all of the lyrics for the most part, with just a few exceptions. So that should be considered before you vote, since it looks like his writing isn't being considered right now,and it should.
Next, and this important.... I'm not sure how many of you noticed, but since we were moved to a new server 2 or 3 weeks ago, the board's load time increased big time - especially when you went to post a new message. It seemed like we were stuck in 2002 again, back when that was a common thing here! Then this morning, all of the ASP pages, which cover the board and polls, totally stopped working for at least 2 hours, right when everybody shows up to vote on Monday morning in the new weekly polls. The rest of the domain was fine, only ASP pages were affected - just like the old days when this regularly happened until we got on a stand alone server and the problem went away instantly.
So this was one of 2 reasons why I didn't want to go on to a new server a few weeks back, since you never know how your domain will operate on something new. The old server we were using never once had this kind of problem, the only problem we started to see in the last 2 months of its use - and most of you I bet never noticed it, was that it's time stamp was running too fast, and that in turn show the wrong time when you posted a message (no real big deal), but, it would affect the polls and end them early on Sunday Night, which could cause a problem with any polls that had very close tallies and perhaps cause a different outcome to the results than what the final results should have been. So when my host offered me a new server to solve the problem, I said okay, since that could be a big problem. But now after only a few weeks with this other server, not only is the load time too slow, but because Monday morning sees our most voters taking part in the new polls, the server can't handle the load and the old ASP run part of the domain totally stopped running completely and nobody could vote in the polls, or post here at Gasx3.
So if you were unable to vote this morning, I'm sorry about that, and for now everything is working again after I had the server rebooted, so do head over to the polls and vote now! I have already told my host to get my domain off of this new server (well it isn't new, it just new to the domain) and place us on another one that actually works. They said they will maybe do it Wednesday morning, and I'm update when it will actually take place since the domain and board, and polls, will be down when it happens (just like a few weeks ago). I can only hope we get a good working server this time, as the last one we had was great and never once had problems like this one is having in the 4 years we were on it.
In the meantime, please hang in there, and if you can't get to the board, please email me ASAP and let me know, since I'm not online all day - but I do check my emails often via my phone, and I can't fix the problem if I don't know about it, like what was the case this morning where I got here later than normal for a Monday, which is the most busiest morning of the week as far as the polls go.
