RE: RE: NSC stuff

I've have never made any money here at Gasland, it's always been a money losing deal. But I didn't start this place to make any money, yet then again, I never realized how much work there would be to run this joint, either. I just wanted to make friends with other Stones fans here when I started Gasx3 and that part of the deal did happen, countless times, which is so very cool. Sure, I also ran into a few assholes here too, but only a few, and so goes life. Nothing in life works out perfect, and everybody runs into somebody who will not like them every so often.

As far as me asking you to take that other thread to email, you got to understand the kind of person we are dealing with here with that spammer/flamer. Long threads about him is just what he wants to read, and the best thing for us all to do is not say a word about the fool. I didn't say anything about him at first, but then I had no choice when he started to get out of hand.

A bear jumping out on you in the middle of the night! I've had a few things jump out at me in the middle of the night Keno but thankfully never a bear. You had one close shave there mate.

As far as that bear goes, he took away my sense of security as far as being out on my deck on a moonless night goes. The town I live is gets as dark at night as anywhere on Earth, since our town is in the middle of nowhere, and we also have a local law to keep it dark. Any outdoor lighting here has to be facing down only, with a cover on the top of the light so no other light escapes into the night sky. We of course have no street lights here, either. I've lived here 16 years now and still to this day, when I'm driving home at night (other than on full moon nights), I often miss my street and drive right pass it, since I can't see it in the total darkness, even knowing when it's coming up! That's how dark it is. But it makes for the best star gazing in the entire country around here. Nights when the planet has its big meteor shower events, are the best to view here! But now thanks to that bear, I feel I need to be extra careful, not that I wasn't careful before. I've seen several bears here before, one even closer up and almost in the same spot on my deck as what I saw last week. That time the bear was only a foot away, but a closed, glass door separated the 2 of us that time. Being outside with this other bear and not hearing him approach, then he's only 10 feet away from me in an instant, is not the same thing at all (plus this bear was as big as a black bear can get). Chances are against anything like that happening again to me here, but the chance is still there, too. I had a neighbor several years ago who almost walked directly into a mountain lion one night in her driveway. The thing was sitting on the ground next to her house when she went out to her car to get something. Had the nighttime motion light not gone on when she walked by, she never would had seen the animal sitting there ahead in her path. Lucky for her, the lion just looked at her and didn't move, and she headed back inside real fast.

So I have this military spot light/flashlight that puts out more light than any flashlight I ever had before. I scan the entire area before I go out late at night with the dog, to make sure nothing is lurking in the dark woods around the house that he might see (and that I can't see) and go after it. Our dog is totally fearless, which could get him killed one day. I'm just glad he wasn't outside with me the night the bear walked up on me. He would have attacked it for sure!
