RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: dandelion

The thing is, and as I have noted in these kinds of threads in the past, the session logs aren't correct all of the time as far as the final released version of the song goes. Let's say, if somebody sings vocals in one take of the song, that person gets listed in the logs, but the same person may not be singing on what becomes the final take/released version of it. This works for instruments played in some sessions for a song too, and then are dropped and not used later on in the final cut. If you got 50 different takes of a song, and the sessions for the one song spread out over 2 months, by noting who is playing what, helps in the studio 2 months later when somebody might say, let's add a organ to the song, and if one was played months earlier, that's a way of remembering when the instruments was used and they can just go back to that session tape date and listen and see if they want to keep the organ in the song or not. For example, the session logs for SFTD lists Brian as playing guitar, since he did, but his guitar wasn't used in the final cut of the song.

So when you put together a personnel list of who is playing what on a song, and you look at the session logs, you also got to listen to the released song to make sure who is on there when the released take of the song was made. That's one reason not all of these lists of personnel on any one song always matches.

On "Dandelion", Keith isn't noted for singing backing vocals in the logs, and to be honest, I don't hear Keith singing on there. He does have a distinct singing voice. What part of the song do you hear his vocals?
