RE: RE: RE: RE: only one left...nsc

Please tell me they knock one out for that...

Well, yes and no. Before they know if you need surgery or not, they do a preliminary procedure on you, well at least for your prostate anyway, which was what I was being seen for at the time. But I also know they do this same procedure on woman too, for checking them out down there. The doctor showed me the 2 different instruments they use, the one used on guys is bigger than what is use on females. Both of them are hand held and look something like a skinny, sliver machine gun. These things have a small camera on the end and this is how they can tell if you're okay or not. For this, they do not put you out, but they sedate you pretty heavy, yet when that thing first goes up inside you, it's very painful for about 15 seconds or so, the good thing is it doesn't last too long. The first pee you take afterwards burns a bit, but it's bearable. But the thing is, if you got prostrate cancer, you got to have this done once a month! Well, my late cousin had to, anyway. But I don't mean to scare anybody who needs this procedure done to them. So you have to put up with 15 seconds of pain, big deal!

But when they do the surgery, yes, they knock you out, and it's done in a normal surgery room, and the instrument they use for this has a lot more than just a camera on it, it has a laser, too, and they can burn away part or all of your prostrate or whatever organ that needs being taken care of, using this tool. But you're totally knocked out, so you don't feel a thing, it's just afterwards where the pain sets in. You got to wear a catheter for at least 24 hours after that, which totally sucks if you never wore one before. Then after the catheter is removed, when you pee, it feels like you're peeing fire, then imagine putting up with this pain every time you pee for 5 weeks (I think I would rather just wear the damn catheter instead, but not really, after the first week the only pain is when you pee, but you got to pee how many times a day?)! The burning feeling is at it's worst for the first week, although they got you on heavy pain pills, too, which helps some. Usually after 3 weeks it's over, but 10% of us have to deal with this burning feeling for, well in my case, 5 full weeks! *** I'll note that I also, twice now, had this done on the other end, when they have to remove polyps from your intestine/colon. I can tell you that although you are also totally knocked out for this surgery too, the recovery from this isn't bad at all, in just 2 days you're back to 100%.

But all guys over 50 are suppose to have their prostrate checked by a doctor once a year, that takes about 20 seconds for the doctor to do, and any guy that doesn't get this done is a fool. If you got a enlarged prostrate, and by age 65 half of all men do, usually that's the worst it gets and no treatment is needed. But if you have other problems that set in, and meds don't work for you, then they have to do that preliminary procedure on you. If you need that done, do it! Because if you don't, and if your prostrate needs to be half removed, or totally removed if you got cancer, well, it's only in time that you will need this done anyway, and the longer you put this off, the worst the problem will get. You can totally put this off, 100%, if you're that much a chicken, but if you do, in time you will die, many years before your time is up. So if you ever need this done, do it, the sooner the better, it's either that, or make sure your will is all made out!
