Listening to the LP makes you listen to the entire album.
It completely changes how you pay attention to music, doesn't it? I generally have no complaints about the sound of digital music, but sitting down and listening to a record generally puts you in a room you like to listen to music in, and you've got these nice little 20 minute sections of time to sit and listen. You don't walk off to get a drink or piss or whatever until the record is done, so it helps to focus on the music you're listening to.
The other thing is that it's not worth it to get up and move the arm to skip a song, so sometimes after several years you find yourself really liking a song you'd have never given a chance with the ease of skipping things digitally.
