Led Zep fans rip the Stones and us fans!

For the last hour or so, I've been waiting for the Perseids Meteor Shower to get going good and I'm about to head up to my tower now and spend some time watching it, as it's suppose to be a good show this year. So in the meanwhile, tonight I was working on a future Rock poll, one of those rare ones that will take a bit longer to put together since I have to play most of the songs I found listed online and give them a listen, since many of them I don't recall having a false ending to them. I did this last about 2 weeks ago, just for Beatle songs (before I ran the Beatles poll question on this last week), and doing that one was more fun, since I can listen to the Fabs all day and night and never get bored; but like some Beatle fans, gosh, some rock fans have no clue what a false ending to a song is! A false ending is just that - the song has to end first and not just change it's beat to be a false ending, no?

Anyway, after about an hour of this I got to 5 Led Zep songs I had found listed online and 2 of them I knew without having to play them, do have such endings to them, so I skipped them, no need to play them (or a desire to play them tonight) and so I just played the other 3 to see if they should be listed or not. So when I got to the last song, "The Ocean", a great song indeed, but one which I decided not to list after I played it, since although it got a brief stop or 2 in it, what I hear there isn't a true false ending. But I played this on YouTube and afterwards was about to leave the page, but somehow I noticed something in the fan comments listed down below the song, that caught my eye. A guy using the handle "Ohio Against The World" wrote: "How can people say the Rolling Stones are better than Led Zeppelin? Zeppelin takes you on a journey each and every single song." I had a chuckle reading that and thought of our 2000 Man, who of course is from Ohio, but who flat out hates Led Zep more than anybody I know! I noticed this guy had 67 replies, a lot for YouTube comments, so being a Stones fan, I had to have a look-see.... you know, it's kinda like rubbernecking when you're out on a drive and you see an accident and don't wish to look, but like everybody else, you do. Human nature is funny how we all are somewhat affected by crap like that. So I started to read this thread... not all the comments were about what this guy wrote about the Stones, but instead about his handle and his being from Ohio, but anyway, the ones that were, gave me a good laugh, since it gave me a chance to look at hard nosed Zeppelin fans and see what they had to say about the Stones, and even compare it to what we hear from our own 2000 Man about them here.

Yeah, in a way it was funny indeed, and it got me to thinking how, when a nonStone fan might run into this joint by accident, if they were to read some of our threads, say maybe the ones like the debates about MT, or BJ vs Keith, that they might think some of us are nuts. Of course, we are (but in a good way), I mean, we just had that long thread about "Jigsaw Puzzle" and if the poor slide playing on it, which I think most of us love anyway, is Keith playing poorly there - or Brian playing poorly, but I'm sure to a non-Stones fan, they would think we're nuts for sure. But yes, I had a good laugh reading Zeppelin fans ripping the Stones because the Stones are so inferior to the membership of LZ! But then one asshole had the balls to put down Stones fans and say we are trashy! We are? I know we're part nuts, and again, that's a good thing about us, but we are trashy too? Yeah, only a true jerk who doesn't know Stones us fans would write shit like that, so I didn't laugh at that comment, and I didn't leave a reply comment either, as I have never left a comment at YouTube before. I'm not gonna get into a flamewar with some asshole who I don't know and don't care to know. But anyway, in case you wish to get an idea how some Led Zep fans feel about our Stones (and New Jersey, too), you can go here to find out. If nothing else you would get to hear a great song, too. But I did get a kick out of most of the comments, since it looked at things totally differently than how we look at things here on this subject matter, that, and I just never read other message boards these days, or Facebook, or any other social media places, other than Gasx3. Again, the comments are under the handle I noted above, and at least on my browser, it isn't hard to find, since they list the posts/comments by when the initial post is made (in this case, 10 months ago), it's on the main page for that song.
