"Stripped" gets a 9. Album covers with a photo of the band are always my favourites.
"The Ballad of John & Yoko" in the first rock poll. John had such a way with words, he could tell any story he wanted. And he tells this one beautifully!
CMTB in the second poll. It was one of only five songs recorded by the band that they didn't write, but they totally own it. That Rossington riff is infectious. Keno's suggested video has the 6-man version of the band, but do also check out their performance from Knebworth 9 months later, with Steve Gaines. And if you have the chance to hear the 2-disc Collectybles set, check out the early live version at the end of disc 1. It predates the studio recording and it is a killer!
There are long stretches of Paul's and Ringo's solo careers that I know nothing about so I find it difficult to vote in the Beatles poll. Each of the four put out one brilliant album (the "Primal Scream" album for John, All Things Must Pass for George, Band On The Run for Paul, and Ringo's self-titled album.) Other than that, they all had some good albums and some not so good. Their solo careers served mostly to illustrate that The Beatles were a lot more than just the sum of their parts.
All this to say that I haven't yet voted in that poll, but I'm inching towards John.
