Today with Keith, I feel that it's guilt, yes, and that's why he comes across as being cold towards BJ still today, just to cover that up. But not back then, not at all. They treated him bad, yes, but actually, not as bad as some think they did. Okay, the deal with BJ and Keith and Anita, that was as bad as it could get, and why Brian couldn't stay in the band and work with Keith any longer. But they still were friends after that and still cared for each other. You read the story about Mick risking his life for Brian in the fall of '68? A true story, and as it turned out, Brian wasn't really drowning in Keith moat at all, he was pretending, and Keith knew it, but Mick didn't and risked his life to save him. When MJ jumped into the muddy water and then found out it was only a few inches deep, and that BJ was really fine, did Keith have the laugh of his life, and Brian learned that he really wasn't hated at all. You don't risk your life if you hate the person you have to save. Both of the Glimmers loved Brian, and BJ knew it, but all of us sometimes hurt the people who we love. Yes, they felt guilty right after he was killed, but that didn't get in the way of how bad they felt over his dying, either.
