Brian did get all those butterflies and the Peace Peace , he has awakened from the dream of life homage....
They did that because they had to. First, they were in shock, which is understandable. But also, they couldn't simply go on with the concert as if nothing had happened. I mean, Brian wasn't even dead 72 hours and he was hugely popular with the fans. It would have been crass and it probably would have created at least some bad press for them.
A large number of the butterflies just fell back to the ground, dead.
Since that day, pretty much all that has been heard about Brian from the Stones (except for Bill, it is important to say) has been negative.
