Do you enjoy outtakes Keno? You could think of live versions as just "alternate versions" of a different kind.

I used to feel the same way you do, but I've grown to enjoy live recordings over the last few years. There's a raw energy to a good live recording of a good band that just can't be matched in studio work. To me, they are both enjoyable, for different reasons.
