As already noted above, Keef was first pissed at Mick in the late 70s and early '80s, after Mick started to treat him like Brian Jones because of his drug problems and missing so many sessions. Mick was in total control of the band by then and Keef's being a junkie was why. Keef wanted it all back and Mick would not bite. Then Mick felt by the early '80s that he was gonna make it big on his own, and leave the Stones - and not only Keef, but the entire band was pissed off at him when they recorded DW. The band wanted to tour too, but not Mick, he was already half gone from the band at that point. Then his solo LP did nothing, as would future solo efforts, too. When Mick finally realized that his fame would only keep growing by staying put as the Stones front man, that was when things in the band got better again.
