My first RNC convention was in San Diego in 1972 when I was 19. They ultimately moved it. It was moved in the end to Maimi I think. That was one of my first experiences in the "real world". Being an ignornant snotty nosed 19 year old hippie brat from hicky Maine, it was quite an eye opener to watch cops use billy clubs on little kids...(because that's really all those hippy kids were then) for no real reason. Then they moved the convention for "security reasons". Too much Dragnet I guess.
