A year of practicing? 2 weeks and he'll be fine
Thinking positive is great, yes SW, but clearly, his practicing so far didn't do the trick, it wasn't the cure, as 3 days in the studio didn't work out for him...
We are all guessing what his real problem is, therefore, we can say what we want, positive or negative, and it's no more than a guess. Nobody inside the band has flat out said officially what is wrong with him. My deepest insiders have been silent (for the most part) on Keith's health, that along with what we have seen in the last few years from him makes me think the true news on his condition isn't too good. If he doesn't feel he's up to playing for a 50th anniversary tour, he must be in as bad shape as some of us have guessed. It seems the latest news from the Stones camp is dismissing even a small number of shows now, as my main man isn't even talking about that anymore. Yet 2 months ago most everybody was, so something didn't go too good for Keith since then.
If the problem is just with his hands, well anybody who has arthritis knows that it comes and goes, some days it can be real painful and other days not bad at all. So with that problem, you only hope for the best and don't expect anything good or bad in the future (although shots do help and he could get by with that, like he has in the past). Of course, what if it is something else?, like a problem inside his head from that fall? If it's a brain problem, forget it, he will not get any better in time, but he could get worst.
Overall I still believe new studio work in the future is possible if they want to do that, but yes, touring (in the way they used to do in the past) could be history for this band at this rate.
