RE: RE: Paul and the other George

Paul needed to apologize to George Martin for sure! The problem with Paul and why he irks so many who know him, is the way he is, or at least was. Example: He always needed to have things done his way and on the spot. Sometimes, if the other Beatles were working on one song that wasn't his, he would not help them and just recorded his song alone in another studio, without including them. John, George H and Ringo hated that!

Now I know and agree he was one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century, and one of the greatest rock singers, too. I'm a fan of his. But his problem back then (not sure how he is today as an old man) was he only would think of himself and the hell with most others. George Martin was a very busy man who had other artists besides the Beatles whom he work for and was a producer for. None were as important as the Beatles perhaps, since well, the Beatles were a one in a million deal. There never was before, or will in the future, be another Rock band like them. 100, 200 years from now they will be remembered just like Beethoven and Mozart are today, and their music will still be played for as long as people are around. But, other artists still had a right to record and also make a living doing that, and several of these other late '60s artists were produced by Martin. While he may have made the Fabs priority one, he still had his other people to work with. When Paul called him up on that day and told him he was needed to do this work for him immediately (that wasn't even true, there was no rush), well, as Martin noted, he was booked in the studio working with another band when Paul called, and was booked solid for the next few days and wasn't scheduled or booked to work with the Beatles in those next few days. So Martin told Paul that. At the least, Paul could have told him that he understood and he would find another person to do what was Martin's job. But Paul didn't even tell him that, and instead of being patience and waiting until Martin could work a time out with him, he told George okay then and within minutes called another person up to do the work. That was rude, and in business, when you have a long history of working with a person and see the best results from their work with you, well you just don't do that, you show that person respect and wait a couple of days - or how ever long it might take. But Paul was Paul and didn't care about anybody but himself. Yet after the fact, he realized what he did was wrong, and that was why he apologized.
