No, the following isn't the new Mumbo Jumbo article that I've been promising here for it's return for over 2 months now. I do still plan to bring that back soon (haven't written one here since Jan of 2021, as it is), even if I don't see how it relates to what is now a polling post board only. But you folks seem to like to read it on the rare times I still publish it here. I can see in the stats that you former Gasland readers (some still call this place that, even if the actual Gasland has been closed for a few years now), enjoyed reading those articles.
But after what happened last week in Texas, well, mumbo jumbo talk is the last thing needed to be written and read. We need serious talk and action taken so this madness will finally stop. Every week when I look at the domain's stats, I'm blown away at how many still read this old board, even now when it's just a weekly Poll Post board today. May's stats for this board's main page, as of May 27, was 71,354 page views. While that's nowhere as many views this joint used to get monthly when we were a daily Stones posting board, that's still close to 2,700 readers a day, and that blows me away, considering that only a few thousand of you vote in our (now just) 3 new weekly Rock polls per week, and that I've only allowed and gave 15 passwords out to post replies with, since the old Gas Board was closed down. But I'm still happy with that, and it worked out fine for me, since I'm mainly retired, and wish it to stay that way; as little work is what I want, and what I now get here (while I still totally enjoy seeing people vote in our weekly and On-Going polls, as that's work I still like to do).
Anyway, I did write up the following since I feel people need to take action ASAP. I'm not just posting this here at this board, but linking to it for my hometown community to read, too, although for the most part, knowing my local neighbors, I bet most of them already took some kind of action on this, on their own. I hope if any of you reading this haven't taken any action yet, that you will, and I thank all of you in advance for reading what I have to say on this matter.... Keno
Well, it was yet another deadly gun killing spree week in America, and this time it was mainly little preteen children who got killed, 19 of them (along with 2 of their school teachers), thanks to the insane U.S. gun laws that we have on the books. Now I know that 99% of you reading this are decent people who were made sick by just hearing of this nation's latest massacre of children in their school rooms by automatic assault weapons. Guns DO kill people and no, it isn't the other way around. Okay, maybe a bit of that is true, that people kill people too, since the overwhelming majority of Republican politicians - who are people, also are just as much to blame for these killings of little innocent child - and I'll add - grown adults, who go to their grocery stores to do their food shopping and instead get killed there for simply trying to live their lives, thanks again to automatic assault weapons. It's clearly the fault of the Republican party who try to block and are against 100% of the bills proposed for all gun legislation from becoming laws, and of course, the evil NRA (National Rifle Association) too, who pays them blood money to block such legislation from becoming law in the first place.
Thousands of these NRA members, gun vendors, ammunition salespeople, and Republican politicians, actually held a big party this past weekend, not too far away from where all of these small children were slaughtered like animals, as the NRA’s annual conference was held in Houston, Texas. Just a few hours away, the city of Uvalde, Texas, at the same time mourned the latest deadly U.S. school shooting. America has become a nation where no child (or adult) is safe. Well, we became that way, thanks to guns, decades ago and have done nothing to stop it. I recall 10 years ago when the same thing took place in a Connecticut elementary school. I was thinking at that time, maybe now the Republicans in our country will open their eyes to this now that little kids were massacred in their own school. Nope - nothing was done at all, and we have school shootings every year here now, because the Republican party keeps blocking every single measure to stop this madness (by using the U.S. Senate's insane 60 vote filibuster rule, which the Dems can't stop, since there aren't enough of them in the U.S. Senate to do so).
Today, 10 years after what took place in that Connecticut school and after what took place last week in Texas, these moronic NRA members are blaming those on the left for what happened and were saying at their convention this past weekend that, in regard to the killer, that "the shooting in Uvalde, Texas, was not done by his rifle, but his mental illness and shadowy forces of evil" or, as as one true total nut wearing a “Let’s Go Brandon” T-shirt noted: "the destruction of our children is by the teachings of the left". This moron won't even admit it's his side doing the killings. One other crazed attendee even suggested that the killer was, get this, "talked into doing it - this week - just to make the NRA's convention 'look bad'". Unfucking believable!.... but actually stated, as idiots like these people really are alive today and living among all of us... and they got automatic assault weapons to boot (doesn't that make you feel real safe?).
An overwhelming majority of Americans – 64% in a recent survey – want all automatic assault weapons banned. Period! Most sane people know that no civilians need automatic weapons. No hunter needs one, and no single person in this country should ever be allowed to own one. Automatic assault weapons are totally lethal, even police are afraid to stop mass shooters wielding them. A perfect example of this just happened: The police in Uvalde didn't go into the school for more than a full hour (77 minutes) to save the preteen children inside who were being massacred, since the cops didn't wish to enter the school without wearing any body armor. Yeah, right, were the babies inside their school, who were being slaughtered like pigs, all wearing body armor? Did these cops think they weren't needed in there at the very moment that they got there to help save them? Perhaps some of the children would still be alive today if the police hadn't waited over an hour to act! These youngins were being massacred as the cops stood feet away outside doing nothing at all, since they were too fearful of the automatic assault weapons that the killer had on him and was using to kill the children with! So the bottom line was that the local police were too scared to go in, since they knew that the gunman had automatic assault weapons on him, so they did nothing at all but stand there - they didn't try to save these 100% innocent children for over an hour! Outrageous!!
A tiny minority of armed lunatics, and the evil gun industry - who only care about protecting their profits, spend millions in buying off politicians, who in turn throw their hands up and blame anything but guns - for all of the mass shootings (example: think of that piece of shit Texan politician pig named Ted Cruz. If there was anybody I would love to kick in the balls, it's he, what a total fucking pig he is!).
While background checks for all gun purchases would help a little, that isn't the true answer to this. It wouldn't had worked at all in this latest case, or in Buffalo 10 days earlier. The only thing that would have stopped this kid who had just turned 18, or the other 18 year old racist kid who killed in Buffalo (who both could buy all of the automatic assault weapons that they wanted), is to not allow them or any other 18 year old kids, to buy such weapons in the first place. Period! These manboys aren't even old enough to buy beer, yet they could buy all of the automatic assault weapons they want? Yep, and that's our crazy, insane America law at work for you/us! But even more important, is that no one of any age should be allowed to buy such automatic assault weapons of destruction - ever!
Every single member of Congress that’s taken blood money from the NRA - must be defeated and taken out of office, since it's the only way a ban on automatic assault weapons will happen in America. I am a gun owner myself, and I support - 100%, a total ban on all automatic assault weapons, along with supporting all other gun control measures. One can be a gun owner and be for these kinds of laws! If the news last week - hearing about these small preteen children being massacred, or the killings of the adults in Buffalo 10 days earlier, made you sick - or if any such killings in the past made you feel ill, well, you GOT TO DO SOMETHING ASAP! First, write your political representatives in congress right now! Here is a link to an already written letter that you can sign (or you can add your own words to the letter, if you like) and send it off to your reps today (your reps email info will be provided once you enter your zip code), at this URL: Tell Congress: Ban Assault Rifles. Second, vote the gun pigs out of office asap and things will get better, and don't let time get in your way on this. Come November when you vote, remember how sick this news made you feel, and vote against 100% of the politicians who support the NRA or who refuse to take a stand against a ban on automatic assault weapons or any kind of gun control. It's our only hope to get sane gun laws passed!
The saddest thing that most parents or other family members, or even just family friends without any children of their own (so this covers most adult humans), refuse to think about - is the following.... Please take a good hard look at your own children and/or grandchildren, or any child who you love, and if you and all of us do nothing at all to help stop this madness, then sometime in the future, one of your own children, or any child you know and love, may be next to be killed while in their schools - by automatic assault weapons (or perhaps it will be you or your mate, or your best friend - shopping for food in your/their local grocery store). Nobody ever wants to think of this when it comes to their own kids, but maybe all of us should, since your own children can be next. Yes, somebody's child somewhere will be next! I guarantee you, 100% for sure, that this will happen again in the future - somewhere in America - if we don't take action right now, and right now means signing that letter linked to above, and voting this November against any pro gun politician, since until they are out of office, there isn't anything we can do to stop this insane madness! But for now, yes, you can write your leaders in congress (like I've already done)! Remember the terrible sadness and hurt you felt when you heard this news about these poor children being killed, and don't forget that feeling come next November 8 when you vote, since we won't have an automatic assault weapons ban in the USA on the books by then, since many of the people in congress at the moment are under the thumb of the NRA and its members money. But we can and must stop them in November, as 35 of the 100 Senate seats are up for election, with 14 seats held by Democrats and get this - 21 of those seats are held by Republicans - so yes - we can make things different this November! If we do, by this time next year - if we do stop them by voting them out of office - just maybe, things in USA might be a lot better - and a lot saver for all of us - and especially for our young children (who of course, can't vote yet).
Remember, overall, guns don't make us safe, that's nothing but a lie coming from NRA members, but gun control laws do - and that has been proven time and time again in all of the sane nations around the globe who have such laws already in place, as such laws are proven to work year in and year out! So let's take action - now, as right now is the time to start doing this - right this second!
