Yes, with all of the Boomers now at old age or turning old, we will be hearing this kind of news regularly, and we have been for about a year or so now.
The sad part about Meatloaf, who's songs I was a fan of, is that he died because he was a Republican, who like most in the GOP, turned this COVID nightmare into a political issue instead of looking at it as a health issue, which it is. He was vocal about not loosing his freedom, while flat out stating that he was scared of COVID. Anybody who takes such a stance, is a walking dead man, and something like 80% of those getting badly sick with COVID today in America are Republicans. It is only they (in America anyway) who are taking this insane stance, and they are now clearly paying the price and killing themselves off, one at a time, while suffering terrible, painful deaths. Yet they blame others, mainly scientists - most of whom are 100% correct on this issue, for their own insane point of view on this illness. Darwin was right, it is survival of the fittest.
While I feel bad about Meatloaf's loss for both his family, and his fans, I don't feel sorry for him, as one of the things he noted publicly about COVID was "If I die from COVID, I die from it". His freedom was more important to him than his own life was. That is very sad indeed. I guess those on the right really mean it when they say "Live free or die". Sorry, but it's a stupid saying. A lot like the stupid pro war saying of the 1960s when the same thinking people told those of us on the left: "America, love it or leave it!" To which I and others said, "no, love it or change it!" Same deal with this other saying (it's actually a U.S. state's moto, forgot which one), it should be something more like "Live free or make things freer or better than they are". Dying doesn't make you free, it just makes you dead - forever! Nobody has any freedom of speech once they are dead. None at all!
